pele o!!! “I Can’t Get Married Because Of Nigerian Media” – Rita Dominic

Rita Dominic, one of Nigeria’s top Nollywood actress and eligible spinster believes the reason she is not yet married is because the Nigerian media has not allowed her. The very pretty damsel who celebrated her 36th birthday few weeks ago, believe that the press has made her plans to settle down very frustrating as they have repeatedly killed her attempt at having a sustainable romantic relation.
Rita claims that some years ago, she was in a very serious relationship but the media killed it because of the pressure they put on her and since then, she has not been able to get a serious man because such relationships will definitely be exposed to the press.
But some industry watchers have told her to look inwards and stop blaming others for her relationship woes. They are of the opinion that if some of her colleagues like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Mercy Johnson and Ini Edo can get married despite the so called pressure from the press, she too should work on herself.

…Says she has no boy friend at the moment…
What would make you quit a lucrative job in the United Kingdom just to pursue your passion in acting back home? Actress Kelechi Ejelonu fondly called KC has all the answers to this question. She believes ”there is no place like home.” The beautiful actress who has a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in International Marketing in the UK, worked with Barclays before she dumped her lucrative job to follow her dream. She returned to the country in 2010, and since then, has not looked back. She speaks about her passion for acting, her dreams and love life…Enjoy
Why did you go into acting?
I have always wanted to become an actress since I was a little girl. I used to watch a lot of movies as a child. I would see an actress on screen and reassure myself that, it’s what I wanted to do in life. I remember, I watched Joke Silva a lot. She is part of my mother’s extended family. I used to tell her that I had a desire to become an actress and she would advise me to go for my dream. But my father kept on insisting that I should further my education to the level of becoming either a doctor in another field of study or an international business woman. I watched people like Joke Silva, Rita Dominic, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde and Genevieve.
KC Ejelonu
KC Ejelonu

Why didn’t you kick-start your acting career in the UK ?
I actually did. I went for auditions. They cast me for a role and they wanted me to loose weight to be size six. For every actor, it works but loosing weight to be a size six for me would not be good at all because there wouldn’t have any flesh again. Apart from that, the media in the United Kingdom is going to attack you because I will really look sick . And in the movie, the character wasn’t sick. I really don’t have to loose much weight to play that role.
For my first role, I don’t want to do that. The movie industry in the UK is not comparable to what obtains in Nigeria and the United States of America . The industry in Nigeria and in the US are far better off than what obtains in the UK . It will take years for a black actor to break even in the UK . What I love about the movie industry in Nigeria is that there is enough room for everybody. Though, it was a hard decision to take, relocating to Nigeria while my family is still based in the UK . I am the only one here but I love it .
Since you relocated to Nigeria, how has it been with you?
I told myself if I didn’t feature in three productions at least, after my return, I would go back to the UK. But unfortuately last year, I was involved in four productions. I knew I didn’t follow the wrong path or dream. In my first year, I did a short film, Nkiru, directed by Bolaji Kekere. I worked with Desmond Elliot and Emem Isong. I did another three mo vies for Mo Abudu’s Ebony Life TV. I was in Heroes and Zeroes, Dark Side, TV series, Tales of Eve Season 2, No Where to be Found, Giddy Up Season 1. I also did a couple of music videos with Tiwa Savage, BB, Lynxx. I shot a short film, called Silent Pain which I intend to release very soon. I will be producing my own series early next year.
Could you tell us what “Silent Pain” is all about?
Silent pain is based on a real life story. It discusses rape related issues especially as it affacts the country. Alot of people don’t like to talk about it. I have a young lady who narrated her ordeals to me and I decided to do a short film to that effect. I had always wanted to talk about it because I was really hurt when I saw the video of a girl who was ganged raped in Abia State . I was sick for a while. In Nigeria we don’t talk about it because of the stigma.
Does it mean that such things don’t happen in the UK ?
It happens in the UK and there are people who reports the matter to the Police and even go as far as tracing the culprits. But in Nigeria , if you go to the police nothing is done. Even if you go to your local government, nothing is done except if a neighbour catches the person and they drag him out and probably beat him up or even kill the person.
Despite all these, I love Nigeria . My parents love the structured lifestyle. My father wakes up in the morning, gets on the train, crosses over and he is at the office. In Nigeria it is different. I had a shock but I was ready for it. Though I used to visit home during Christmas celebrations. There are times when I will have a bad day like someone pissed me off and I would go home and speak to my aunty. She will tell me to let it go. I will go into my room and cry. And I’m up the next day ready for whoever will piss me off. Every country has got its trademark. But I love Nigeria .
What is your impression about the movie industry?
There is time to grow. One thing I like about the Nigerian movie industry is that there is space for everybody. It also happens in the movie industry in the UK and the US . My motto is; mind your own business. Be yourself, do your own thing, you don’t need to belong to a clique to prove yourself. Nollywood is booming and I am privileged to be part of it because I know we are going to go a long way.
KC Ejelonu
KC Ejelonu
Do you have any issue with our storyline?
Sometimes, I do. Sometimes I get script and they say they want you to play a particular role and you are not giving the time to read it. I usually ask the director or producer to allow me read it for a day in such cases. There was this director that gave me a script to read and I asked him to give me a day to study it, but told me, he have no time to spare. I asked him for two hours. But when I read the script, I wasn’t impressed.
What has been the challenges you have face since you returned to the country?
It has not been easy. Nothing is easy but for me, it’s either you are not the right size we need you to be or you are not fair enough to be given a role in a movie. It is good for a producer to know what they want but if you are going to invite people for auditions, state it categorically that this is what you want. When you call for audition, a lot of people show up. People with different sizes, shapes and heights. Why waste people’s time. That is one of the challenges I have to contend with. People just call for auditions and there is no breakdown of characters. After keeping you waiting for hours, they tell you sorry, you are too tall, you are not light skinned and all that.
What do you hope to achieve at the end of the day?
I want to be recognised. I want to be able to hold my own. I want to get married and have kids. Kudos to Omoni Oboli, Omotola Ekeinde, they are just fantastic. How they do it, I do not know. I want to touch people’s lives. Let my work speak for itself.
Have you experienced lesbianism?
Not all. I pray I don’t. I think when these people approach you, they look at you and know if she will answer me. When people look at me, you can tell that I will give you bullshit if you tell me bullshit. It depends on how you carry yourself.
What about sexual harassment?
I haven’t been approached or harassed sexually. But it boils down to how you present yourself. Most time, when you go for auditions, I see young ladies dress like they are going clubbing. They make up, wear short minis and all that. And I say to myself, a man will be a man. He has seen legs, so he will approach you, it is up to you to accept or reject. What I hear most times is that people want to get into the industry to be the next Genevieve. You can never be the next Genevieve. Genevieve is Genevieve. Why can’t you be yourself?
And they do so many things to achieve their dreams. If one director say they will make them the next Genevieve they fall for it because they don’t have confidence in themselves. If you are a good actor, you shouldn’t let anybody tell you, I will make you this or that. God is the only person you need. When you have Him, he makes you what you want to be.
Who are your mentors?
I look up to the likes of Vivian Ejike, Rita Dominic, Mildred Okwo and Joke Silver. For the opposite sex, I admire Bimbo Manuel, Yemi Blaq and OC Ukeje. We have been friends before I got into the industry. When I need help and advice, they help me a lot.
What role can you not play?
I cannot be totally go nude. I still love my private life. Despite the fact that I am an actress, I am still an African lady.
Are you married?
I am not married. I am not engaged. I don’t have a child though I love kids a lot. I am married to my work. My love life is very boring. I don’t go clubbing. If I am not working, I will be at home. I help my aunty whom I’m staying with, in cooking.
You don’t have a boyfriend?
I don’t.
How many times have you been heartbroken?
I have experienced it, three times. They were not just into the relationship anymore.
At what point did you notice they were no longer interested in the relationship?
I dated for four years. Those were long distance relationships. They were based in the United States and I was in the UK . It was hard. I broke up with my last lover when I was relocating to Nigeria . I still believe in God. I am a hopeless romantic and I will fall in love again. I cannot marry an actor because of his busy schedule. Right now, I’m staying away. I want a man who runs a nine-to-five or has a business. If I marry an actor, I will get jealous. I am a jealous person.
KC
KC
What kind of man would you want to marry?
He doesn’t have to be tall or dark or something, all that is rubbish. I want someone who is God fearing and educated because I need that person to motivate me. I want to learn new things from that person. I need someone who will love his family.
What else do you do aside acting?
Acting is the only thing I do. From the beginning of this year, two days after my birthday, it has been crazy. I haven’t had one week of rest. Before now, I would have three weeks apart before my next job. This year, I already have been involved in 10 productions from the month of January till now even outside Nigeria . I did one in Ghana , another in South Africa and currently on an MTV based series.
Did you have any push from anybody?
Not really. They only get me informed about an upcoming audition somewhere, I would go for it and do my thing. They don’t tell me to meet anybody. Nobody has helped me. I actually did say to them that I did not want their help because it will make me lazy and I will relax. I am a workaholic. I started working from the age of 16. My dad had a problem with it. At a point, I had two jobs in the UK and when my dad asked where I went, I would say I went to the library. I enjoyed working. I want to make my own name.
How do you cater for yourself?
I do a lot of savings. I didn’t spend money carelessly and my father always give me pocket money. So, my money is my money. I am not a materialistic .My friends would go on holiday or would buy designer’s bags. I already knew what I wanted. I had a notepad where I write down things that I want to do. When I was coming to Nigeria , my dad was upset with me. He didn’t speak to me for three weeks. He didn’t give me a penny. I booked my flight ticket and returned to Nigeria by myself. But now ,my dad is my biggest fan.
How many languages do you speak?
I can speak two languages now. I started learning Yoruba when I relocated to the country. I can’t speak Igbo fluently and I’m not happy about it. I am trying to learn it. It’s so sweet and Flavour, the musician makes it more interesting. My dad didn’t teach us how to speak Igbo. He is the only surviving child of his family. His parents and all are siblings have died long a go. For him, he didn’t see any need to be in Nigeria . It was going to be boring. My cousins from my dad’s side are all based in the US . It was lonely for him. So being in the UK was easy for us to even go to the US to see my cousins. I am trying to learn Igbo reciting the lyrics in Flavours songs.
Do you hope to sing someday?
No. I have done two stage plays where I had to sing but with a very bad voice. If I am going to do it, it will just be for fun.
What are you vices?
I don’t smoke, I drink occasionally.
Tell us about your background?
I was born in Lagos Nigeria . I started attending auditions in 2010 but I began acting in 2011. I studied Business Administration in my first degree and International Marketing in Masters. I started working at the age of 16. When I completed my first degree, I got a job and when I finished my Masters programme and wanted to move down to Nigeria , my father refused. He insisted I further my studies up to Ph. D level. I just got a job at Barclays and worked for a little over a year and I left.

Tonto Dikeh Reveals Her Sweetheart After Multiple Heartbreaks

The actress has been involved in relationships recently that didn’t all go well including one with Yvonne Nelson for the same guy whom she later denied any knowledge about.

Her pain and struggles with some of her colleagues has been in the media for the past weeks and the subsequent sharing of her father’s picture to the public for the first time only served to illustrate the deep hole of love missing and how much she longed for a partner in her life to love and support her. Well maybe she has found one.

Even though she wasn’t explicit as to whether he was indeed her boyfriend, Tonto had this captioned message with it: “With my sweetheart….Udo”

So could surmise that he is the lucky one and his name “Udo.”

Dayo Adeneye "D1" In Baby Mama Mess With Regular London Chick

This is defintely one secret that Primetime's Dayo Adeneye would have wanted sealed in a jar forever but unfortunately,it has spilled and it is what it is! Didnt they say 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'?..well,this is probably one of the reasons!

D1 and Susan Ekpe supposedly met and fell in lust during the 2009 Nottinghill Carnival and the duo became so close that even air could not come between them. Her London home became second home for D1 . When Susan visited Nigeria after their affair started, she got first class treatment from smitten loverboy.

The relationship is rumoured to have lasted four years with playing safe as D1's watchword, however one careless night of hot passion ended up in Rebecca aged 2years being conceived.

Susan who works in the UK is sick and tired of fending for Becky alone and sources indicate she has tried to pursue a drama free approach to this issue but it has been all in vain Enquirer Magazine tried to get in touch with Dayo Adeneye for his own side of the story, and he was nice on the phone until the name Susan Ekpe was mentioned,he quickly cut off the call and refused to pick despite several attempts. I hope D1 will respond to the allegations and clear his name. I wonder why she decided to made love with a married man without protection and then go on to keep the pregnancy.

London girls are desperately thirsty to get hold of any well packaged Nigerian celeb, Man or woman, married or single

Never too late to pursue your dreams: “Being A Lawyer Has Always Been My Dream” ~ 9ice Goes Back To School

After having one ofthe most successful albums of all time, 9nice has decided to go back and pursue his career as a lawyer. In this interview with Nigerian Tribune..he says itsalwaysbeen his dream.

You were said to havepulled outofyour Law programme at theLagosState Universityto face music. That decision paid off, butyou seem not to be happy aboutitnow?

I didn’t pull outbecause of music; I leftschool because I was unable to pay myschool fees. While I wason the street, I gave hundred percent ofmylife to musicand it paid offeventually. When I wasin school, I was just doing musicfor fun until I left school. At that point, I decided thatI wasgoing to face music passionatelyand from that point, things changed. Your decision to leave school wouldn’thavegone down well with your parents, how did theyreact to it and what was constantlycoming to your mind back then?

It was not an easy decision to make. ThereweredaysthatI had to livein the studio. Talking about my parents’ reaction, I had to lie for a while, pretended as ifall was well. Beforemy parents knew I wasn’t in school, it was too late to complain becauseI was alreadyon TVs, making moneyand rocking showsall around.

Would you consider going back to school someday?

I’m in school already, studying public safetyand Common Law atCapella university. Itis an online programme. I can’t think of anyother courseexceptlaw.

Would you trade your being famous for something elseifyou look at some ofthe bad side of fame that you haveexperienced over time?

Yes, I will love to trade fame with somesilentlife that doesnotarrogate too much attention to one, but it has got nothing to do with any bad experience. No matter whatyou do or who you are, there’s alwaysa difficulttimeand life challenges that you can’trun away from. ButI will reallylove to tradebecause I wish to bea lawyer. That has always been mydream.

Do you think life would havebeen differentfor you should you have been a lawyer? Honestly, lifeas a normal person isfineand morewonderful, free, fair and peaceful. Butasa public figure, you enjoymore and you pay morein termsof theprice you pay for being famous. If I come to this world again, I would prefer normal life.

How I was tricked into a pornographic movie – Charles Inojie

Popular comic-actor, Charles Inojie is still wondering how he was tricked into
featuring in that lewd film titled ‘Calabar Girl’ directed by JerryDon Nwachukwu. The film was produced by Divine Ezeibekwe and banned immediately after it was released sometime in May, this year by the National Film and Video Censors Board. Charles recounts the story of how he got involved in the production.

coup that catapulted him to the top while working

Lancelot Imasuen among other issues. Excerpts:

A comic-actor!

Do you know that I am not aware that I am a comedian? There are places I visit today and I tell people that I am not a regular comedian;someone you see and you start laughing or someone who is ever ready to act as a clown when the occasion does not call for it. I see myself as a very serious person. I see myself as a good actor.

If I do comedy roles well, it is only because that is where I have probably, been most tested and again not a function of any kind of training I had. Except that I probably just have it in me. I believe that my late grandmother had the strongest sense of humour that I ever found in anyone and I benefited generously from her talent. Maybe, I am one of those you would say are naturally gifted as humourist.

School of hard knocks

I hate it when I hear people say, I am self -made. There is no one on earth that is self made otherwise people like us are not supposed to be where we are today. When I picked my bag one morning

*Charles Inojie He said, ‘you did not try to gain admission into the now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma

courtailed . But now that you are going to UNIPORT, would help comeyour way?’.

In school, it wasjust me and myclosest neighbour which is poverty. When I woke up in the morning, the first person that told me good morningwas poverty. But I think, God gave me a specialgrace. Beyond allthese travails, there was always apoint I wanted to get to, and that wasto graduatefrom the university at theend oftheday.

I graduated from the University in 1999, and in

Beyond that, when I became a full-fledged director,

Relationshipwith Lancelot Imasuen

That is another story altogether. I was telling some of my close friends recently that Lancelot is my friend

met Lancelot in 1992, at UNIPORT where we sat for the entrance examination for the Certificate Programme in Theatre Arts. He was in the company of another friend of oursknown as KennedyOvbiahon who’s now late.

After sitting for the qualifying examination, we returned to our different locations and later had to meet again

school. And since then, wehave been good friends.

Joining Nollywood

We have made some humble contributions to acting. As a matter of fact, my very first movie as a full- fledged director was titled

back to back for OJ Productions. I also played one ofthe lead roles then. Thereafter, I starred in Tortoise, another movie produced by OJ and directed by Adim Williams. I was an Assistant Director in that film. At the time, the three lead roles were given to John Okafor, OkeyBakassiand Victor Osuagwu.

Before then, Bassey and Company, a

Bode Osanyin urged us to stage a short play for Wiwa. Initially, I refused to be part of theplay, preferringto do something different.

But somehow, I was encouraged to be part of the short play.

back on stage. But lo and behold! Saro Wiwa singled me out and asked if I had acted before, I replied in the contrary. He asked what I was doing, I said I was a Jambite and wanted to read Law.

He asked if I had secured admission, I said I was waiting for my JAMB result. He reasoned that it would take about eight to 12 months and he advised me to enroll for Certificate programme that would last for 10 months. When we left, Malik and some of my friends encouraged me to do so. That was how I secured an admission to do certificate programme in UNIPORT. While doing the programme, I discovered I had only come face to face with my destiny. So, I did not spare any time to seek admission for a fulltime degree programme.

Growingpot belly

In fact that is the more reason we have to thank God for Osofia’s life, if not, people would still believe that big tummy is part of the requirement for one to become a comedian. Osofiahas been able to proofthatyou don’t need to have a big tummyto be a successful comedian. It was common problem most of us had to contend with then but thankGosOsofiahasproven it has nothing to do with it.

I cannot stab myself in the stomach to reduce it but I discovered that it is easier to acquire it than to shed it.

Starringin “Calabar Girl”movie

This is what I cannot even explain. Some time ago, a senior colleague of mine invited me to be part of his new production. For over 15 years, he has not shot a single movie as things

support. I have known him for severalyears and as an undergraduate, storming Lagos those days to attend auditions, he was one of the foremost directors in

then. There was no wayI could have refused to support hisreturn to the industry.

That was how I ended up starringin that movie. To win my sympathy, henarrated how a marketer once rejected

the film. I appeared in few scenes in the movie which was shot in three days. I have no ideawhatsoever regarding what lewed scenes he had previously shot.

In fact, I’m yet to understand why he decided to shoot such movie. I think he took his desperation too far. I’m

because the very day I saw the movie jacket, I knew something was wrong with it. There was no way I could have been part of the movie if I knew from the out set that what he has shot was somethingcloseto an adultfilm.

Wife’sreaction

I thank God that I married my friend. I tryas much aspossible to betruthful to mywife. She saw the movie and

connected with those dirty scenesin the movie. In fact, she has nothing whatsoever to be angryabout.

What I learnt from theproject

What I have learnt is that next time, I should be wary about who comes to ask for my help in disguise. Next time, I would insist on

acceptingto bepartof any make-up scenes in amovie.

Meeting mywife

I metmy wife thewayother peoplemeet theirs.

Marriageexperience

Marriageiswonderful. I was talkingto one ofmy senior colleagues the other day and I told him, I now know why he wanted me to get married. I think I am a better person now than before. Things that you would ordinarily react to are things you now take a second look at. Marriage has calmed me down. I am a lot more mature now and I am happy.

Me sef go marry o MKO Abiola's Daughter, Folashade Abiola's Wedding In Texas

Folashade Abiola, lawyer with USA Treasury is the daughter of Late MKO Abiola and Dr. Bosede Gloria Abiola. She married her love, Serdan Banjac on August 31 and September 1 in Houston, Texas.

Wishing them all the best.

Senator Ahmed Yerima & Stella Damasus Go HeadTo Head On Al-Jazeera

A heated debate took place on Al-Jazeera’s The Stream between Senator Ahmed Yerima and Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus on the Child-Bride saga in Nigeria.

Other speakers who joined in the debate were Ishag Akintola- a Professor of Lagos State University and the founder of Muslim Rights Concern; and Aminu Gamawa-a lawyer and a doctoral canditate of Havard; The programme was moderated by the host, Femi Oke.

For me, Stella spoke well emphasising from time to time that the focus should be on the girl child who was being exploited and not on religious sentiments.

I feel so sick in my stomach to hear Senator Yerima explain boastfully that his Egyptian child-wife, gave birth to a baby boy at the age of 15!

As for Ishag Akintola, he clearly doesn’t know what Vesicohoneypotl fistula (VVF) is.

I needed a born-again woman in my life when I married

Comedy merchant, Opa Williams, got married officially to his wife, Patricia, a pastor in Foursquare GospelChurch,Surulere,in 1994. But, before then, they had been living together as husband and wife for four years. Their marriage is blessed with three kids. The couplespeakson their journeyinto marriage….

How I met her

I got married officially on 24 September, 1994. Come next year, I will be 20 years in marriage, though I have lived with mywife for 24 years. I met her in mysister’s saloon in 1988.You know when a man meets a woman, the next thing is for them to strike a relationship. We became friends before we started staying together. She had her first child in 1990, two years after I met her. I told her then, if I’m going to marry her, you must become born again.

I wasn’t born again but I think I knew myweakness.I felt that if I’m not strong in faith, I needed somebody who will be strong in faith. I think that was what delayed our marriage in the first place. I insisted she must be born again before I would propose to her. Then, shewas more ofachurch goer.

Attraction

She was innocent, young and respectful. These were the things that attracted me to her.

Proposingto Her

I don’t thinkI proposed to her.Onething led to another. I just said to her ‘let’s go and see your family’. That was it. I didn’t kneel down with banquet of flowers and a diamond ring to propose to her. But I knew I was going to marry her. When I insisted she mustbe born again, that’swhen it dawned on methat she was going to be mywife. We had been living together, even before we had our first child. I’m not influenced by thewestern culture.

20 years after marriage

I think tolerance and respecting each other’s space is what hasbeen keeping us in marriage. I am a showbiz man, I hold a lot of meetings at odd hours, and she’s a pastor. We agreed to pursue our individual careers. Shetold meshe hasa desire to become a pastor.I encouraged her to go ahead and actualise her dream. But she must not disturb me when I am pursuing my own career. Our marriage has been built on tolerance and allowing each other to have his/her space. I respect her spaceas well asshe respects mine.

How we live

Most times, I’m domineering because I have to dominate my house. And she respects my decisions. Sometimes, she makes her own decisions as well, and I respect them. I think problem sets in when one party wants to lord it over the other. Even though we are married, wehave our differentdestinies. She hasher destinyas ahuman being just as I have my own destiny. It is for her to fulfill her destiny just as it’s for me to fulfill mine. I will help her to fulfill her destiny and she will help me to fulfill mine. When my wife was setting up her school, she told me that’s what she wanted. I had wanted us to set up a farm. But she asked me to support her and I did. As a man, you must be in control of your house, but you must not oppress your partner. In fact, most times, it’s oppression and assertion of ‘my will and not your will’ that leads to the break up of most marriages.

I am waiting for him to join mein my ministry— Wife

I am children’s pastor at Foursquare Gospel Church, Surulere. I became a pastor in 2003. I attended aLife Bible College in 2000, and graduated in 2003. Our relationship started when I was living with my elder sister. I was veryyoungthen. Later, I got a job with Ibru Sea foods. He has been a source of encouragement to me. He is the kind of man that does not interfere in his spouse’s career. He gives you the chance to do whatever you feel would give you happiness. Because of this, I also encourage him in any project he wants to embark upon. I always pray for him and stand by him. I know God is doing wonderful things in his life and I have no doubt in my mind that one day, he will join me in myministry.

Proposingmarriage

I love him and accepted his proposal for marriage immediately. We had a child before wegot married.

What I sawin him

He’s a very brilliant person; he’s full of love and caring. Those were the things that attracted him to me. When I lost my dad in 1988, I needed somebody in my life. I came to Lagos and was staying with my elder sister before I met him. Then, he was like an elder brother to me; he was not only giving me useful advice, but, also, he was there for me. As a matter of fact, I had no choice than to fall in love with him. When you are with him, and you are faithful and committed to him, he will definitely bend his back for you.

What I don’t like about him

Will I say he’s the opposite of what I am? I love him for that, because he complements my efforts. Ifhe’snottheway heis, may be I wouldn’t havefallen in lovewith him.

Intimacy

He’s the type that doesn’t takehis familyfor granted. He ensures I’m alwayshappy. He ismybestfriend. We areverycloseto each other and that’swhat marriage isall about.

Advice to young couple

Like what I used to advice myfirst daughter who is23 now,. I always tellher that when she’s ready to settle down, she should marry somebody who will take her for whom she is; somebody who will love and cherish her. There are a lot of deceitful men out there. Myhusband wasserious with me and that waswhy I married him.

Closeness to God

Before now, he was not a strong Christian. But, today, he has come to realise that it’s good to serve God. He goes to church regularly now. He has promised to dedicated more of his time to serving his Maker and I’m very happy for him. I have been praying for God to touch him.

Nawa ooo.... Pornography makes our movies real – Benson Okonkwo

Benson Okonkwo is a rising actor who has arrived the scene like a fast train with bounty of goodies to offer. Since his foray into the industry, the Enugu-based sexy actor has had honours looming about him just as controversies would not steer clear enough from him. No thanks, to the gay role he played in one of his most successful moviestilldate “Pregnant Hawkers”

In a recent chat with Weekend Groove, the actor opened another can of worms when he openly supported injection of pornography into Nollywood movies, saying it makes the movies more real and the sex scenesmore believable

His words: “My dear, it’s only a movie and make-believe, you know. We watch movies like that in Hollywood. Nigeriansare hypocrites. I think pornography makes our movies more real. And for that reason I am in support of it. If you take a good look at Hollywood movies for example, you willnoticethat it is rampantand it means nothingto them.

Its like acting normal roles, first and foremost. It’s a movie and you act exactly what is in your script. Or you can say that you are interpreting the script given to you. And there are restrictions, beside kissing and touching here and there. What we do in Nollywood is not porn. Nigerian movies are not made for everyone, besides, the regulatory body gives approval before such films are shown. Also there areagerestrictions to viewingsuch films”

When asked if he could marry a girl who has exposed her nudity in a a sex scene, he retorted “Love is blind. It can take you anywhere as long as the chemistry is there. So I can marry any lady as long as the love is there. Yes, I can. And I am ready to spend my lifewith her” he said.

I like the courage of Iyabo Ojo, Halima Abubakar for all those NGOs and the rest of them. Putting smiles on people’s faces is what I’m aspiring to do and I think that’s the onlywayyour prayerswould be answered and God would put asmile onyour facetoo.

What’syour advice to upcomingactresses?

Ayo Adesanya Has My Name On Her Behind, Marrying Her Was Like Boarding A ‘One-Chance’ Vehicle’ - Ex Says

When asked about the lessons he learnt from his

Buy clothes online today www.konga.com/fashion

“The biggest lesson I learnt was not to trust anyone. The person you trust may eventually disappoint. Then I was the greatest fool but today I am the wisest and happiest. Marrying Ayo Adesanya then was like boarding a ‘one-chance’ vehicle. It was like I could never come across a woman I can love like that not knowing I was just being foolish. If not that she had a baby for me, I would have revealed a lot about her. Will just keep them to myself in the interest of our son. But I was agitated when I read that she wants to remove the tattoo on her hand bearing our logo – No Fear. She is free to do but what about the one on her ass where my name was written bold, Omogoriola Hassan? How is she going to remove that? That is stupid of her. If at all you don’t like someone again, that doesn’t mean you need to go to that extent. But believe me she’s still thinking about me because if she’s not she wouldn’t be thinking about removing my tattoos on her body.
