Looking at Shakira
and her fabulous figure you might be surprised to learn it was only
three months ago that she gave birth to son Milan. But the “Hips Don’t
Lie” singer reveals that dropping the pounds was no cake walk. While
promoting “The Voice” in Pasadena, California, on Monday, the blond
bombshell revealed, "[Losing baby weight] is the only thing that’s been a
little stressful … I knew I had to come back here to do ‘The Voice’ two
months after I had delivered a baby. I didn’t have my four months of
maternity like every woman on Earth has. I’m not trying to complain, but
it’s been a process full of challenges.”
The 36-year-old mama added that the pressure to shed the baby weight
at record speed is something that she feels the previous generations
didn't face. She said, “I think that our mothers and grandmothers
weren’t under the pressure women of today are after delivering a baby.
My dad says there’s nothing better than meat over the bones. So he likes
my mom a little chubby. She was never under the pressure to have to get
to her old weight — and she never did.”And while the blond bombshell seems to be loving her role as a new mommy, she is candid about struggles of motherhood. She joked to Us Weekly, "I didn't expect babies to need so many diapers! Nobody told me they needed to be changed so often!" She continued, "I mean he's a great, great baby. He's an easy one, I think. But nobody told me it would be this hard. It takes a lot of energy from you. But I love it, I'm really enjoying every bit of it. It's just that it's not as idyllic as everybody tells you, but also not as horrible as everyone tells you." We have to say, we love her honesty!
